My Outcomes for these Four Years
Marion council deserves a strong voice in its leadership team. With 20 years as a councillor, having experience in community groups, accounting, teaching and environmental issues, I am well qualified in effective management of Councils financial and infrastructure resources. Foremost is the need to minimise rates while providing adequate services and increasing the productivity of staff resources.
I will be working with locals who are working on local issues. My leadership is offered in development policy on new houses and the landscaping of Seacombe Heights. The strategic planning of Tonsley Village and its fruition remain important. Negotiating for better premises for Mitchell Park Neighbourhood Centre along with Mitchell Sports and Community Club is now paramount. As further reports become available, I will assist Clovelly Park and Mitchell Park residents to just resolution on toxic vapour contamination. The Marion Historic Village landscaping needs completion. Warriparinga Ward will benefit from my experience.
Open Spaces of Warriparinga Ward
We have been consulting with you to find out what you would like in the way of open space usage within the City of Marion. Warriparinga Ward residents have lots of green spaces within walking distances of their homes. You have told us that open spaces for all ages are considered by you to be a priority for your wellbeing. In open spaces you want seats, paths, bins drinking fountains, toilets, shelter shades and play spaces.
Local level parks are small parks that cater for local community, used for short time periods or for amenity, can include low level play spaces, shelter shades, eg. Alison Ave Reserve.
Neighbourhood level parks are larger reserves that cater for a broader catchment, may cater for a range of activities or be natural areas, can include single sport facility use, park furniture, play spaces, shelter shades, public toilets or community art eg. Kenton Ave Reserve.
Regional Level parks offer experiences that people are prepared to travel to get. They are generally used for long periods of the day, include multiuse sport facilities, fitness equipment, play spaces, park furniture, shelter shades, public toilets and community art eg. Club Marion and Mitchell Park Sports Club.
The City of Marion plans is committing $15.8m over ten years to significantly upgrade open spaces. Quality designed, innovative and accessible play spaces meet the developmental needs of children. The City of Marion has a fifteen year plan for the future provision of play spaces. Open spaces and play spaces are to be enjoyed by you.
